Native American Spring - Wetu

Com base nos dados históricos poderíamos admitir que a vivência dos povos nativos americanos com os ambientes naturais e suas transformações teria sido profunda e significativa. Cada nascer do sol, os movimentos da lua, das constelações, e as mudanças de estações eram fundamentais para  a vida desses povos. Podemos imaginar que eles vivieram esses momentos intensamente comprovado pela riqueza da expressão cultural e espiritual historicamente registradas.

Para o povo Lakota Sioux, as Black Hills eram montanhas sagradas e representavam um espelho terrestre do cosmos, que refletiam os movimentos dos céus em especial das constelações. A Cerimônia do Equinócio da Primavera marcava o tempo em que as manadas de búfalos - que era a base alimentar dos lakota, entrassem na região das montanhas - Black Hills. Nessa época eles faziam a viagem anual para caçar o búfalo, a partir do equinócio da primavera até o solstício de verão. O Sol viajava através das quatro constelações da primavera, enquanto o povo se movia passo a passo para as Black Hills.
